A (unauthorized) picture of Whitney Houston’s dead body in her open casket is featured on the cover of the latest issue of the National Enquirer. In the shocking picture, the 48 year-old singer, who looks peacefully asleep, is wearing makeup, a purple dress, $500,000 worth of jewelry and a pair of gold slippers while lying inside her golden coffin.
National Enquirer just hit an all time low with this cover and headline “Whitney: The Last Photo.” The picture in question was reportedly taken at the Whigham Funeral Home, where the family attended a private wake on Friday, the eve of Whitney’s “home going” service with over 1,000 very special guests.

The tabloid has refused to divulge the source of the morbid picture, while the owner of the funeral home refuses to comment on the leak by the request of the Houston family. They should just sue the Enquirer, in my opinion. I’m not even sure how or on what foundation, but that cover is completely disrespectful to Whitney’s memory, her family and her fans all over the world.
Now, I guess the same person who sold the beverly hotel pics, is the same person who sold this pic!

This is disrespectful on so many levels and I hope the mag and whoever took the pic gets sued!
I think that the family's privacy should have been respected in this regard however, Whitney looks absolutely gorgeous!
We all know that the National Enquirer has NO morals, but the line has to be drawn somewhere! First of all, who is the very UNSCRUPULOUS person that took these pictures? How did this creep get invited in? Some people just have no conscience.
Well, first of all. I feel weird about looking at it but I also have to admit that I couldn't "NOT" look at it. I do wish though that the picture had never been snapped. I think the worst part of it is that someone at the private viewing had the nerve to take a picture and sell it.

Money is the root of all evil!!! I would hope that most people would look upon the magazine as very low class instead of making them think they have done something great. Just keep in mind the real class in the entire mess is Whitney. May you rest in peace angel.
An open casket is not disrespectful. Elvis, James Brown, and countless other famous celebrities have had open caskets, so why not Whitney Houston as if there is something to hide from the public. I'm thankful to see the photo, it allows closure... and also proof of death for all the nonbelievers. Rest in peace Whitney, I will always love you!
The Whigham funeral home betrayed the family trust. Im not surprised with the National Enquirer, people and tabloids will stoop to the all-time low.They will stop at nothing for a buck.
can't have it both ways...so called famous people and wanna be famous people always want to be be in front of the camera and/or in the limelight until something negative happens and then want to ask for privacy. inquiring minds wanna know so choose wisely and be careful what you wish for. whitney does look beautiful! Wow.... I could not imagine going behind the backs of people who trust me to sell a photo of such a personal time. It was obvious by the manner the funeral was held, the family wanted a small piece of privacy. I am so sorry the family was not afforded that privacy. deep sigh...

So disrespectful. I'm writing a letter to the national enquirer.
We, the Fans & public were not able to attend and personally view our Whitney for the last time... I don't see why we would be denied a photo for viewing. A lot of us loved her too, and this is the only closure we get. I'm truly heartbroken over losing her, but I am grateful for the last photo. I'm sorry if the family feels invaded, but some of us needed to see her to bid our farewells. Thank you and God Bless,
I hope all of you people involved in this disrespectful act get sued. You disgusting people. Have some respect for Whitney's family. Imagine how they are feeling now!. The family, friend member or worker who took the photo should be named and shamed. The National Enquirer should disclose who sold the photo.
Well..For all we know it was a family member that took this photo and sold it to National Enquirer for mega bucks! They've already made the major networks pull the funeral footage because they're going to sell it as an attempt to raise money for Bobbie Kristina. So they could've done this to also raise money for her. Don't put anything against anyone.. it all boils down to money anyway in this country.
Withney, even in your death they still don't want you to rest in peace... how sad.

Did anybody forget her family stated she had on white and was viewed NOT in the casket at the family's "private" viewing. SMH at the things people do to get money.
